Published in Picton Magazine’s May 2019 edition for their Spring editorial section.

As a stylist, I followed the theme for the magazine (summer-inspired visuals), but drew my inspiration from Lana Del Rey’s infamous song, Summer Sadness. I wanted to convey something different from the usual bright and sunny tones usually associated with the warmest season of the year. For those who have experienced a heart-wrenching event during this usually light-hearted time, such an emotion can make one feel quite out of place, so this piece seeks to acknowledge that feeling.

This editorial started as a collaboration project with photographer Yohan J Kim. The concept and direction was largely directed by myself, while Yohan found our the model and makeup artist. I sourced the clothing from a local designer, (Connally McDougall), clothing/ accessories / props from my personal vintage collection, and shoes from Steve Madden and Doc Martens. Finally, I created a playlist suited to the mood I wanted to convey and wrote copy for the editorial.
